Emily is a registered dance/movement therapist with a background in clinical counseling. She integrates creativity in her therapeutic process and believes in the power of movement and its healing qualities.
Emily provides services to individuals and groups and has specialized experience working with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ clients. She firmly believes in culturally competent care. She is passionate about creating a therapeutic relationship where clients can reflect and explore the various aspects of their identities and how they intersect.
Emily works towards promoting an inclusive and open-minded space which allows for her clients to grow and heal. To encourage this type of space, Emily utilizes person-centered, strength based, and trauma informed approaches. When she is not working Emily enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Emily’s life is filled with lots of dancing, art making, cooking and being in touch with nature and gardening. She is always striving to empower those around her in and out of the office. Her perspective comes from a creative approach and wanting to embody what it means to be playful while showing up and being a true and constant friend. She loves a good dance party, so she can boogie and jam to some good bops, and her aesthetic is 70s boho vibes. Right now, Emily is diving into painting, drawing, and getting back into dance classes for her enjoyment. It is a good day if it starts with a cup of coffee with Chobani creamer and she gets to end it by watching the sunset.
