Olivia is a music therapist who whole-heartedly believes in the power of music. Music therapy is an evidenced-based practice built on using music to work towards non-musical goals. Olivia uses music therapy interventions like songwriting, music-assisted relaxation, and instrumental and vocal improvisation to support emotional expression and processing, coping skill development, relaxation, and mindfulness. Olivia also has experience using singing and touch techniques with infants and families in the neonatal ICU to promote comfort, sensory awareness, and family bonding.
Olivia comes from a songwriting background and is passionate about helping clients of all ages write their own songs as a tool for processing. She also believes that sometimes words are not needed to dig into feelings and experiences, and that non-lyrical elements of music like melody, harmony, rhythm, and tempo alone can help us express and process emotions.
Olivia enjoys being active and spending time outside- hiking, skiing, weightlifting, pilates, walking, and more recently golfing. She loves thrifting for home decor, performing original music around town, and sitting for hours at local coffee shops. Olivia has also recently gone back to school to become licensed as a clinical counselor.
